Flynne BaileyAssociate Attorney
Flynne Bailey, an associate at Chepenik Trushin, concentrates on insurance defense and coverage disputes. Ms. Bailey is an experienced trial lawyer and former Harris County Assistant District Attorney. As a prosecutor, Ms. Bailey tried numerous misdemeanor and felony jury trials and worked as a Misdemeanor Chief responsible for supervising and training junior prosecutors. Ms. Bailey was also responsible for preparing witnesses and victims for trial, working with law enforcement to gather evidence, presenting cases to the Grand Jury, and arguing pretrial motions and writs of habeas corpus.
After graduating in the top 10% of her senior class at Bishop Dunne Catholic School, Ms. Bailey moved to Washington D.C. to attend Howard University. Ms. Bailey graduated with honors from the School of Communications in 2011 with a B.A. in Journalism and minor in Political Science. While at Howard, Ms. Bailey was a member of multiple student organizations and served as Public Relations Director of the School of Communications Student Council, section editor of The Hilltop student newspaper, and President of Alpha Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ms. Bailey was a recipient of the Legacy Scholarship and was a member of the Dean’s List.
Prior to starting law school at the University of Miami, Ms. Bailey was a James Weldon Johnson/Robert H. Waters Summer Institute Fellow and earned the “Best Overall Student” award at the end of the program. Ms. Bailey was also a recipient of the Dean’s Honor Scholarship. While in law school, Ms. Bailey worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Marcia G. Cooke in the Southern District of Florida and as certified legal intern at the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney. Ms. Bailey also worked as a certified legal intern at the University of Miami Children and Youth Law Clinic, where she represented children in foster care and former foster youth in dependency, independent living, disability, and other general civil legal matters.
While at the University of Miami, Ms. Bailey received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for earning the highest grade in her legal research and writing skills course and was a member of the Dean’s List. After graduating a semester early from law school, Flynne moved to Houston, Texas where she began her career at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
