Lauren Lackey is an associate attorney in the litigation and probate administration departments at Chepenik Trushin LLP. Ms. Lackey was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2022 with degrees in Political Science and American Studies. She subsequently graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2025.
During her time in law school, Ms. Lackey completed internships at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Ms. Lackey participated in the Trial Team, the Children and Youth Law Clinic, and the Child Advocacy and Family Law Society. Ms. Lackey also received book awards for outstanding performance in Litigation Skills and State and Local Government Policy.
In the first summer after beginning law school, Ms. Lackey interned with the Honorable Judge Norma Lindsay at Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal where she gained valuable knowledge about the administration of justice. During the following summer, she clerked at Chepenik Trushin LLP and transitioned to associate attorney upon admission to the Florida Bar in September 2025.
